The six weapons the official press kit names

Six weapons are named by the studio's own press kit, against an announced target of more than 20 — so at most a quarter of the announced arsenal is named anywhere.

Scope of this page

The six weapons named in Deep Worlds SA's public Beautiful Light press kit, set against the more than 20 weapons Steam announces without naming any.

The names are AK, AS VAL, FRF2, Mosin, SG 553, and an Orion flare pistol. They come from folder and asset names in the press kit's image tree, read on 2026-09-04.

One of the six had already been named officially. DEV UPDATE #6, published on 2025-05-26, reported an AS VAL model among several weapon integrations. The press kit and the announcement agree on that name, and that is the only weapon on this list with a second, dated source.

The gap between six and more than 20 is the point of this page as much as the names are. Steam's Early Access Features section announces more than 20 weapons; naming six does not deliver a catalogue, and this site does not present it as one.

The Orion is the only entry on the list our inventory recorded with a descriptor rather than a bare designation: a flare pistol. That descriptor is reproduced as recorded, and no function is inferred from it beyond the words themselves.

Named

The six names, as the press kit carries them

Casing and spacing are the studio's, reproduced rather than normalised.

  • AK

Named in the press kit. No official announcement recorded on this site names it. The press kit gives no variant, no calibre and no further designation.

  • AS VAL

Named in the press kit, and already reported in DEV UPDATE #6 of 2025-05-26, which described an AS VAL model among several weapon integrations. The only weapon on this list carried by two dated sources.

  • FRF2

Named in the press kit. No official announcement recorded on this site names it.

  • Mosin

Named in the press kit. No official announcement recorded on this site names it.

  • SG 553

Named in the press kit, with the spacing the folder carries. No official announcement recorded on this site names it.

  • Orion flare pistol

Recorded in the press kit inventory as an Orion flare pistol. It is the only entry recorded with a descriptor attached rather than a designation alone, and the descriptor is reproduced without inferring a use, a mode or a slot.

Gap

Six named, more than 20 announced

Steam's Early Access Features section, consulted on 2026-08-29, announces more than 20 weapons alongside an advanced inventory system. It names none of them, and the official Extended FAQ states the same target without naming any either.

So the six names below cover at most a quarter of what has been announced, and possibly less: more than 20 has no upper bound. A visitor looking for the arsenal will not find it here, and will not find it anywhere official, because nothing official publishes it.

This site records the distance between the two rather than filling it. Six is what can be named today; more than 20 is what has been promised. Neither figure is adjusted to make the other look better.

Method

How these names were obtained, and what that limits

The studio publishes a press kit at its own address, deepworlds.studio/PressKit. That address redirects permanently to a Google Drive folder shared publicly and linked from the studio's own Linktree. The folder was opened in a browser on 2026-09-04 and its folder and asset names were written down; this site's image bank document holds that record.

Only the names were read. No file was opened for its content, no statistic was taken from an image, and nothing in the folder describes what any of these entities does. A name in an asset folder establishes that the studio produced material under that name and published it — nothing more.

The folder carried no licence, no README and no stated conditions of use. That absence is what allowed the assets to be used elsewhere on this site, and it is recorded here for the same reason it is recorded there: it is a fact about the folder as consulted, not a permission granted in writing.

Limits

What this page does not establish

It publishes no statistic. No damage, no rate of fire, no recoil, no magazine size, no range and no handling value appears in any source this site has read.

It publishes no price and no rarity. The economy is unannounced beyond the existence of traders, and nothing attaches a cost to any of these names.

It does not say these six will be in the released game, or that they are in any build. A press kit shows material that exists; it does not show what ships.

It draws no comparison between them and recommends nothing. Build advice on an unreleased game would be invention.

Source basis

Documented basis

Each reference shows its identifier, consultation date, and scope.

Evidence statement: On 2026-09-04 the folder and asset structure of the public Beautiful Light press kit named six weapons — AK, AS VAL, FRF2, Mosin, SG 553 and an Orion flare pistol. DEV UPDATE #6 of 2025-05-26 had already reported an AS VAL model among several weapon integrations. Steam's Early Access Features section and the official Extended FAQ, both consulted on 2026-08-29, announce more than 20 weapons and name none.

Boundary

Editorial boundary

These names come from the folder structure of the studio's public press kit, read on 2026-09-04. They establish that the studio produced and published material under these names. They establish no statistic, no price, no availability, no loadout and no comparison between weapons.
